i believe an employee is eating ice cream out of the freezer. I found spoons and empty wrappers and half empty ice cream tubs laying under a pallet. I also founo Klondike bars under there. What should I do if I thinks it's an employee? Should I report this to a manager or local law enforcement officer? How can they catch people of they eat in the freezer?
Are you in charge of the frozen department? If you are, then notify management. If you're not, then stay out of it unless you actually see the culprit in the act and then notify management and let them handle it.
Unless they're doing it in an area that's covered by a camera there's nothing that can be done unless you film them yourself. Regardless, let management know and they should investigate.
Just let management know and give them a heads up. Law enforcement, I can guarantee you will do nothing for missing snack items. Just tell your manager
How about not be such a ****ing buzzkill? Literally everyone I work with does this, they pay us **** and don't even provide employee meals like most places. Sorry if i get a little hungry after stacking pallets and moving water for 8 hours.

OMG, you are in for a rude awakening when you grow up, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch! You should ask about that free lunch next time you go for a job interview lol!

Literally your entire crew needs to be fired then. Theft is theft, however you slice it. It's a grocery store, there is food and drink to be purchased if you want it.

At my store that little bottle of water and cheap snack can and WILL get you fired if you are discovered eating and not paying for it. Theft takes profits. theft costs and affects everyone. And I'll be damned if someone is going to steal and get away with it in my store. Theft=money lost=shrink=eventual hours lost=less money. That PISSES ME OFF!!!
I found a partially eaten cake from the bakery department in the back freezer one time. There were actually finger marks in the icing where they kept breaking off pieces of it with their hands.

Even then its truely Not free, you gotta work your ass off in a chain gang or doing Some sort of busy work.
While I don't condone this whatsoever, I can't help but to think of how wasteful Kroger is at times. I can understand health safety purposes, but the amount of chicken that's tossed after 2 hours in the deli breaks my little broke-ass heart.

Not only that, but out of date stuff that is still perfectly fine. Especially the "best by" dates. I throw away at least a case of the kroger sandwich slim bread every week since it only has a shelf life of 18 days, yet it's still soft and not moldy at all at the time of disposal. Same with a load of other frozen foods.
Dairy is gnarly when it goes bad (and it goes bad quickly). But I had bread that I just threw out that was almost a month past its date. No mold, but it was starting to get hard.
If it smells fine, and looks fine (and has been stored correctly), then ****, eat it.
Jesus people, report this ****! They are literally stealing from your employer. I'll never understand all the people who see their coworkers steal or give each other discounts and don't care.

True. While they won't let you starve, you STILL must pay back. If you have a canteen account in jail, any money in your account goes to pay for your "better" meals and other items. And they way you get money in your account is if outside family puts money in for you, or you get a job within the jail that pays less than minimum wage. If you have nothing, then you must pay restitution if required by court.
Ain't nothin' in life for free. Except the air you breathe
