Push push push, night crew
Permalink

I am the backup for grocery, and every night I come into the manager saying push push push, my guys bust there ass's at night, which keep in mind they don't have too but it's always they gotta work faster and harder, last night we had 6 guys for two trucks, 2000 pieces total, get it all done, backstock ran, conditioned, and absolutely no overtime, with six guys, well no one got overtime, but I had to push two pallets to the back, and know I've been getting texts all day notching me out for not getting done, correct me if I'm wrong, but as a union employee, you guys can not write me or anyone up for not getting done

If they are writing you up because you were unable to get certain things done in time, that's automatically eligible for a union grievance right there. Call your union rep and tell them what is going on.

This problem is pretty much everywhere. No matter how hard you work, they push you harder. They demand and never say please or thank you. You are not alone, I guarantee it. I simply cannot wait to take the associate survey this June.

if you are being texted all day after working all night you are being harassed and they are causing a hostile work environment and maybe even a unsafe work environment if you aren't able to get rest because of it.. depending on how long you been around the union is pretty much useless. they're mostly doing this to anyone who has a decent amount of time in and the union is doing what they do best trying to get non union workers 15 dollars a hour.

Krogrr business plan:

1) Chronically understaff

2) Abuse the skeleton crew as "motivation" to magically make up the difference

I'm looking forward to that survey too, it's every night, I contemplate everyday stepping down, because this is just not worth the hassle

even if you do it's too late now they already know you can do the job so you will always be hassled with things even if you aren't running the show.

Ignore the harassing texts. Save them up and use them against those who sent them. You can only do what you can do within the time alotted. It's crazy. This is what it seems like to me.

employee: we are doing the best we can busting our asses with the time given with no OT

What management hears: hkdntjskfmrnfkdnrnfn.

texting/talking when you're not working is illegal since it's considered work. next time text them back "i will talk to you at the workplace about this. do not text me again or i will go to union."

We had a similar situation here, we have 3 grocery trucks a week (Monday Wed Friday) the Friday truck was always much larger to account for Friday Saturday Sunday Monday sales, and the grocery manager has weekends off. Long story short, store manager made him bring in a lot more on Wednesday to keep Friday truck down. That may be something to look into if you're in a similar boat.

Prior to him doing that just our grocery loads were on average (1100 + 400 peyton for mon, 1200 for wed, 1800-2100 for friday) now it's usually around 1600 on wed and 1400-1500 on friday which is a lot more manageable.

I don't see why people feel the need to lie on this forum.   I really don't.

The key word is pieces.

If they are really counting pieces, then the case count would be about 300-400 which is doable for 2 people.  60-80 cases an hour is normal for a seasoned employee.

Either that or they don't know what they are talking about.
