This is a pretty dumb question but how much do you think a single bascart weighs. FES told us clerks that one cart weights around 45 pounds.

Might be close, but stores use different ones across the country, so...

I do not know but we just got two dozen little carts for small kids to use. can not be more than the weight of a spiral ham on those things.

30-45lbs sounds about right. they weigh less that the 50lbs dog food but more than the 20lbs.

The one on the left(half cart) weighs 38 pounds.  The one on the right(normal cart) weighs 60 pounds.  There are no dumb questions.  BUT, it is foolish to argue with your CSM.

Yup the one on the right is the one we have. I've never seen the half cart at any other store except for the one seniors frequent.

You'd be amazed (... or perhaps not) the fit some customers will throw if there are none of those smaller, double-decker style carts available. Never mind the fact they may have just walked past several dozen in the parking lot on the way in. If there isn't one waiting for them, you don't want to be anywhere near that entrance way and you especially don't want to be a courtesy clerk in the entrance way...

Customers love, and I do mean love to see how much junk they can cram into these smaller carts when really, a normal size cart would have made more practical sense. And just watch as they give you a nasty death glare when trying to place their bagged groceries back into the small cart and not smash anything in the process. If you can't find a spot, they just... stare at you... like it's your fault there isn't room.

Anyone that works or helps out on the front end hates those smaller double-decker carts with a burning passion.

My Kroger just got all new plastic carts.  I like them more because they are light weight.  I love those little carts, the Kroger down the street from mine has them.  They are so much easier to push.

I guess our version of that is when customers pack those electric mart carts to the breem and than want us to repack them. I am thankful we don't have to use those double decker carts. We all ready have enough problems keeping the bay full with regular carts.

The half carts are ****ing mindblowing. People will really throw a fit if they aren't able to use them... and If your store, let's say, "loses" all of them the shoppers will complain to the baggers "I wish you guys had those small carts. I really loved using them!" I heard this for MONTHS before we got a load of them in.

We've gotten the fat style carts and the normal style carts now, as well. It's so annoying to have to deal with 3 different kinds of carts on a daily basis.

3 types of carts? I didn't know there are so many variations of carts. I feel bad for the cc's at your store.

Management likes to order the wrong kinds of carts. My previous store had four or five types with just "slight enough" differences in size that they couldn't be pushed into each other. The different variations were either slightly too wide or too tall, and thus wouldn't line up. Separating them wouldn't work 'cause when it got busy and we would run low on carts, customers would grab any cart they could find...

I love those little carts too, and use them whenever i need to pick up a few things. Why carry a huge cart around for a couple items? That said i wouldn't throw a fit over it, lol

I've never had the displeasure to.deal with the euro carts, but those carts with  the baby seat really test my patience.
