How honest were you/will you be with the Associate Insight Survey?

First of all, it's unfair that it was changed to only a "select" number of stores being picked for the survey. It should be every store. Does everyone's opinion not count? I'm skeptical that even those of us being asked for our opinion will be heard.

For those of you that do work in a store that is doing the survey, how honest were you/are you planning to be when you do take it?

It's irritating how when you answer a question in a way that prompts a follow-up question on the next screen, should you choose to select "Other" and type in your response, you're limited to fifty characters. Seriously!? Kroger doesn't want a detailed explanation of why things are as bad as they are, apparently. Even the "final" screen that gives you a five-hundred character limit isn't sufficient... (I maxed it out, though, lol).

Whether it's truly anonymous or not... it said on the poster and it was said by management and I think it even said in the survey itself (that I don't remember for sure) to be open and honest, and that I was. Especially when it came to the ONE and ONLY question about the pay rate.

I'm doubtful anything positive will come of taking the survey, but it felt a little good, at least, to convey how I feel about the company outside of this message board, lol.

At least in our store, they want all associates from all departments to take the survey. I'm pretty sure it's division wide but since our store is the flagship in the division McMullen actually paid us a visit today and two others from cinci, talked to us, and said don't forget the survey :P

How can it be anonymous if you have to sign in with your EUID number?  I refused to take the last one and I'm not taking this one.  When Kroger says something is completely anonymous, don't believe them.

You don't sign in... at all. Our ASP is handling it at our store, and when someone has the time to take the survey, he/she just goes upstairs and let's the ASP know that he/she is ready, and the ASP takes the person in another room that's used for computer training, and sits him/her down at one of the computers and then leaves the room. No signing in, or anything.

I thought I recalled our store manager saying a couple of weeks ago it was changed and only a "handful" of stores in each district of each division being randomly selected to take it, but I could be mistaken.

Ugh... glad no big shots from corporate came to visit us concerning the survey. I hate it when they come. It messes up sometimes two days work just to make everything "pretty" for the big shots. Customers be damned, apparently. They aren't as important as the corporate big wigs.

Atlanta division had the "pulse" survey last year.  This year it's a full survey of the stores.  We're having guests from Cincinnati out here to bug us.  Management is also doing free food and other bribes during the survey when they do nothing during the rest of the year.

The demographics bit is laughable because you can easily tell who is answering the survey based on that data since there are so many unique people in our small depts.  In terms of race, gender and seniority I'm one of one in my dept.

I took it the other day (Atlanta Division). I gave my department manager great reviews (because he is awesome), but the store management got terrible reviews.

When one of the questions asked "How do you feel the pay for your position compares to similar positions in other companies?" Oh man, I laughed so hard. Gee, I'm making minimum wage cutting meat, when every other meat cutting position is going to start at $9+/hr? Gee, what do you freaking think Kroger?

I also liked the question that asked something along the lines of "How likely are you to leave your current job for another job"? Answer: EXTREMELY LIKELY.

Also, you DON'T have to answer the demographic questions. It says so on the page, you can just skip answering.

I haven't taken it yet, but I plan on being completely honest with it just like I was last year. Why wouldn't you be honest? If there's something you don't like, don't say that you do, otherwise you're telling the company "Everything is perfect and no changes are needed. Leave things as they are and don't make any improvements."

'Course I dunno when I'll actually get to take it. The usual hours I work just happen to rarely intersect with the hours our store manager and secretary work. I usually only see them right when I'm leaving, or if I'm filling in for someone's vacation.

Are night crews excluded in practice from participating in the survey?

They should open it up to ex-employees too. I'd be more than happy to give my piece of mind.

I thought they had started up a program a few months back where they send a survey to employees that have quit, with the intention of learning why they had left the Kroger Company?

What GenesisOne said.

If they give you problems when they require you to "log in" to anything, then decline to participate and let them know that you KNOW that this survey HAS to be anonymous.

Oh, i will need more than a fifty character limit. I'm going to do a post follow up survey via a certified letter to Rodney Mcmullen. Everybody should send him an anonymous letter.

The low character limit bothered me, I took it and had my associates take it tonight.

And by that I mean I mostly gave "Highly dissatisfied" on the majority of the questions. Except for stuff dealing with my immediate supervisor, Who is nice but picky, and my current assistant manager, who is pretty cool about things and isn't a total ego maniac like the store manager. Anything to do with corporate instantly got a 1 as I do not believe they have the best interests of the customer or employees at heart and would never take employee suggestions into account.

Corporate only sees profits and OSAT as high priority. Customers and employees are nothing but numbers to them.

I was usually honest with everything but the demographics. I didn't see the part where you could skip those questions so I just changed my age and gender to the range of the majority of other courtesy clerks. I forgot to change how long I'd been with the store, but there are a few guys that are in the same range.

My manager is a bit of an ass if you don't do your job, so he likes me, but is rather harsh on others that don't do their jobs. He gets tired of replacing slackers I think.

I didn't see the part where you could skip those [demographic] questions . . .

It was just a matter of leaving them blank and continuing to the next page.

Come August, there ought to be some pretty scorching survey results.

If only the higher ups actually cared about those survey results, but they don't, so what will it matter? I know that they don't, because if they cared about the employees and the conditions of the stores (and thus, by extent, the overall customer experience), things wouldn't have been allowed to get this bad and stay bad for so long.

I expect them to do nothing beyond shrug off the survey results and begin work on the next big "thing" that they're so sure will drive sales and be a stunning success, but won't, rather than address the issues that exist.
