I'm a part time employee I work in mid atlantic area and I have just completed 12 consecutive weeks having 40+ hours. Will I now become full time? How long will this process take?

Hopefully they won't knock you back down to part time when they find out.  As your CSM or whoever does the payroll at your store.

I also work in the Mid-Atlantic area.  According to my contract, which covers WV, and pats of Ohio and Kentucky, it states that if someone works full time hours for so many consecutive weeks, don't remember how many, that a full time position is to be put out to bid for all stores in the area.  So the person doing all the hours might not even get the job.

Are you sure it's for the entire area and not just that one store?  Whenever someone has fulfilled the requirement at my store, they only post the position at the store.  It's not posted at other stores.  The reason is each store is only allotted so many full time hours.  The person with the most seniority in the area may work at a store that doesn't have any full time hours available.  Most stores prefer to do their promotions within the store.

OMG that sucks.  So the person who works all the hours, puts in the time, gets shafted back down to part time?  That is just so unfair.  That contract sucks.  Our store, you work it, you earn it, you get it.  Then they take it away from you.  But at least they give it to you.

There are a couple of people I spoke to in my store who was part time and got switched to full time and they have told me that they have no choice but to make me  fulltime even if we don't have fulltime postions available management will be upset but oh well.

They get alerts on the manager dashboard about who is gaining status.  There are people they don't care about and there are people they do not want anywhere near full time.

yeah my area is the same way.

I worked 40 hours for at least 12 weeks filling in for the full time night cashier. then management had to post a position in our store only.  the peraon on leave was coming back to work (nights), but they listed the position as night cashier anyway, so no one applied other than myself.

and I know but then there was an open grocery position b/c someone hadworked 12weeks. multiple people applied, and the person with the most seniority got the position rather than the person who'd worked the 12 weeks...

tearing down the posting paper does help haha.     I honestly did not do this cause I was afraid of getting in trouble for it  ha.   but someone did so for me

I almost did not get 12 weeks though. my 11th week was the first week of escheduling, so the schedules were all messed up.. I was scheduled my normal nights, but all random times, some midnight, which caused my saturday night shift to be on the next pay period.. fortunately I was able to switch around some shifts and still get 40 hours for my 11th and 12th weeks.
