I applied for my first job as a "courtesy clerk" and I got an email saying welcome aboard and to create an account at the onboarding website but after I did I redieved no further information about my first day or anything for that matter. What do I do? Do I wait for further instructions or do I call?
I would go in and inquire in person. That's your best bet. If you haven't heard anything yet, you want to make sure you don't miss any drug screens or orientations, so it's best to ask them in person and just explain to them that you hadn't heard anything via e-mail. If they're not busy (The customer service people probably won't know unless they're a department manager), ask if the HR person is in.
It seems that since we went to the new hiring system that it takes longer to hire people after their application. Granted my experience was a little different because I'd already passed a background check to work with children at a previous job and I think that sped things up for me, but last year people were going in for an interview and working within the next couple of weeks.
I got a call but I can't remember if the lady said 11 - 7, 3 - 7, or 4-7
It's different for every store. Sometimes we have ours early in the morning, other nights it can start as late as 4 or 5pm. Return the call and double check so you don't miss it!
