Kroger Columbus Central Fill
Permalink

I am a technician at Kroger Central Fill outside of Columbus, Ohio and I am here to tell you it is the worst place to work. It used to be good, but it has become a horrible place to work. Why? Because of the terrible management team of Denise B. and Brittney F. Denise is the fattest, sit on her butt and leave early GM the world has ever seen. You cannot trust her. She is emotionally over reactive and kind of over her head. The thing about her is she is so lazy and incompetent but she goes around to the technicians and constantly berates them for not working hard enough. Brittney used to be a decent floor supervisor but has become a mini Denise.

The Floor Supervisors are horrible and the turn-over is worse than anything I have ever seen.

The turn over here isn't due to the lousy pay, it is due to the horrible management. Listen to the employee surveys HR! You have to get rid of DB. She is worthless and is bringing the facility down.

Well they refer to themselves as "Technicians" so i could only think that they are Pharmacy techs. Its probably like a central pharmacy, maybe?

I wouldn't fill a prescription at that store.  The GM and the floor supervisor have no business supervising the pharmacy.  I can't imagine a GM telling the pharmacy techs to work harder.  Techs need to take their time and do the job right, you cannot make mistakes filling prescriptions.  And a floor supervisor over there?  What could she possibly know?

I used to work that place but took a job at a hospital. The OP is right on! Terrible workplace and those two managers are horrible. You just can't trust em. I'm happy elsewhere and most people are leaving. It is a burn out job with really unprofessional management.

Yes! DB is a horrible GM. How can management see the turnover and read the employee surveys and she still have a job?

HR has been here recently asking questions why it sucks to work here. The simple answer is the GM Denise. No one likes her and she is the root of all the problems here. She lies, retaliates and is a trainwreck.

There has been plenty of employee surveys that are officially filed with HR that say how and why she is so bad. Why doesn't HR read these? Read your Employee Surveys and do something.

Its a facility where Kroger stores send some maintenance type scripts to be filled, tech fill them and send them back to the stores for customer pick up. it is not a store at all. These pharmacy techs are trained just like those in the stores, but they make less money, and pay more for their benefits, and they have no pension, just a 401K.

We need the Union in here. How can we get the Union here? We need professional reps to handle Denise and Brittney so they will stop treating us so badly.

That's not how it works. This message board isn't a means to communicate with the union branch in your area. You need to get in touch with either the union steward at your location and arrange the details that way or you need to call your local union office and communicate your issues that way to possibly get a union rep out there.

I quit this place after three weeks of working there as a clerk.  The company straight up lied to me to get me to agree to the cut in pay I was going to have to take from my then-current job and told me I'd be getting $10.00 an hour and failed to mention that $0.50 of that was shift differential and not even for the full shift.  So I was actually making $9.50 which was more of a cut than I was willing to take (they didn't tell you about shift differential until orientation so I was under the impression that it was $10/hr PLUS the shift differential so it wasn't that much of a paycut). I was only working part time at my then-previous job and needed the full time job with the benefits.  A week after I started I found out about the actually pay rate and approached Brittney about it and explained to her that the pay they were giving me was NOT what I agreed to when I started working for them and she just shrugged and said that well, that was the pay for 2nd shift, and shooed me out of her office after telling me that she would make sure the recruiter was clearer about the pay from then on.   Which did NOTHING for me and my situation... Not just that but I was told that advancement could happen quickly through taking some tests and whatever, the thing is that they needed to train you on all the different areas... I was on manual bagging for the entire time I worked there, even when I was scheduled elsewhere they put me back to manual bagging.  If someone tried to train me on something else, I was redirected.  I was a cashless cashier and if I wanted to do that crap, I could've found someplace that would've paid me better to do it.

Basically, watch your back with these people.  They lie to lure you into a TERRIBLE job and then restrict any kind of upward mobility you might have even though they try to use that as a selling point for the position.

The problem is that Denise and Brittney aren't real managers. They will lie and fire us for something bs if she suspects someone is contacting the union. Kroger Hr gets tons of complaints about her but do nothing. We need the union in here but can't risk getting fired because we basically live paycheck to paycheck.

I used to work here for 6 months and I can tell you what is said here is truth. The way this place is run shows that Krogers does not care about its workers. But the real secret is that nobody should get their prescriptions filled at any Krogers ever. you know why? Because it might go to Central Fill in Columbus. The people who work there are not the bright smiling faces you see at the store. The people who work here are freak shows with Tats and Piercings, who don't bathe and who chainsmoke on their breaks and are people who shouldn't be anywhere near your medication. Even the pharmacists are awkward and weird.

Stay away from getting a job here. What they say about Denise and Brittney are true. But for the love of God do not get your prescriptions filled at a Columbus Krogers. As someone who has worked here you do not want these people touching your meds. disbelief

Anyone get a job here? Well you better be white to get a job AND keep a job here. Denise has fired so many non whites here that you need a pair a sun glasses to work here now its so white. Its like the Purge movie but with Kroger management taking out anyone that aint white. Denise fires anyone she don't like and its so white here you read between the lines.

It seems that Central Fill may have a bad employment atmosphere with managers who treat people unfairly without Kroger HR doing their jobs. If you feel that you have been harassed by Central Fill management staff, under certain circumstances, you can file a complaint with the state of Ohio within 180 days. The website, address, and phone number are below.

To file a claim with the OCRC, contact the nearest office below. More information about filing a claim with the OCRC can be found at the  website.  You may also check out more information at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, Equal Opportunity Division.

Columbus--Central Office
Rhodes State Office Tower
30 East Broad Street, 5th Floor
Columbus, OH 43215
Phone: (614) 466-2785
Toll-Free: (888) 278-7101

Also, you have a right to unionize and get professional labor representatives. Other Kroger facilities are unionized, why not you? It is because management want to maintain total control over your employment and make decisions over your employment on whatever whim they want. You have an option not to allow this to occur. One opportunity is to unionize. Here is the local Columbus UFCW website: www.ufcw1059.com

Over Labor Day, let's remember how little labor DB actually does. She badmouths JS. She badmouths HR. Why does she waste everyone's time by going after TP's old position? She has wanted out of Central Fill for years but no one will touch her not only because of her lack of ability, but also because everyone still remembers her bad behavior in Columbus. TP didn't even promote her when he had the chance. The reality is if her position was open today and she was applying for it, no one would call her back.

I don't know about that but I do know the old pharmacy merchandiser here in Columbus used to say she was an idiot.

I can only imagine how much fatter our already obese management is going to be after Thanksgiving. They going to need super duper heavy duty chairs to keep their fat butts upright as they do nothing at their desks.

To be fair- management are the only obese people that don't work. If there was a production standard for DB and BF they would have been gone long ago. biggrin

This management team is so bad and the work sucks. Someone died slaving from the work and the clueless management team didn't even notice the body. Do not work here.

That previous post Is ridiculous!  So sad that the employee passed away. However, her so called "best friend"

At the facility (YW), was the last one to notice, and even comment on abdominal  vehicle being in the parking lot running! However, YW, misidentified the vehicle as the.deceased's. YW commented to someone that the vehicle was a "pharmacist's",  so YW and the other employee left.  People need to quit placing blame here.its awful a dear person passed away. She is missed. However, there were many underlying issues that contributed to her passing. God Bless her and her family.

It isn't trolling. Truth is an employee passed away on premises and management didn't know for nearly a day. This management team looks down its nose at the floor staff and we all know it. No one thinks Kroger actually cares about its employees and this GM is no different.

This would be funny if it was not true! Anyone getting a job should beware. Read Glassdoor. This place sucks. DB is the worst manager and she is a save her own butt person who will run you into the ground working you to death.

And for sure if you get prescriptions filled at a kroger store tell them not to send it to central fill like I do. You don't want people here filling it, you just dont.

Kroger Central Fill is not an equal opportunity employer as long as these managers and umprofessional supervisors run the facility. #blm

I miss Vanessa. Vanessa was the long time office worker who left for another job after DB removed her from her position for asking why DB keeps firing long time employees in a meeting. She was removed and put in a bad job she couldn't physically do because DB knew that she would quit. This is the kind of crappy stuff that goes on here
