I finally think I'm done with the hell hole that's called Kroger

So I have worked as a cashier at Kroger for about 3 1/2 yrs. Ever since Kroger started the apron policy I decided to never wear one. I hate aprons, I don;t like putting things that heavy over my neck because I feel getting choked, it's been about 2 months since they implemented and none of my managers tried to get me to wear it, even though they made all my other co workers to wear one I always only worked 6-11pm on weekdays so I never saw them much. Well today I went in at 7 am and the very first thing my manager told me to do was go up stairs and get one, so I did and threw it under my register. About 3 hrs later my manager doesn't even tell me personally but calls my front end manager to tell them to tell me to put it on. Well I was extremely busy dealing with people and didn't have time to put it on. Well he came over and told me to put it on now, and I told him I wasn't going to wear it. He told me I could go home then. SO I had to go upstairs with him, my front end manager, and our union rep, and signed a paper saying suspension pending. One thing I ht about Kroger is communication between my managers. Plus this manager I never had respect for because he didn't do **** for his job. It was funny since today was the first day I met my front end manager lol.  My manager kept telling me I was being terminated but put on the paper suspension pending. SO I'm not sure which I am but oh well I was getting sick of Kroger anyway it's a ****ty company that I have been with for 3 yrs only to show a .45 cent pay raise for my time with you even when I have went above and beyond my position. YEAH **** YOU KROGER! I will be sure to never shop with you again and to tell everyone I know to not shop with you and discourage everyone to work at this ****ty company!

The aprons are adjustable, you know.  Maybe you're just tying them too tight.

So you disobeyed a very easy command, didn't justify it, got written up, and then acted surprised? You are right that there is a lack of communication. It was between you and your managers.

Oh when I got written up I didn't act surprised that I was. I knew I was going to be I just didn't care. This store that I've been at has gone down hill sine this manager and another one showed up a few months ago. I just don;t respect them at all because they're a bunch of A holes and I wanted to mess with them one last time. I was actually going to be putting my two weeks in by Saturday but this works too.

Everyone has to wear an apron except you?  Well I hated those hot heavy polo shirts, wearing them in 105 degree weather in the summer, but it's what Kroger said I had to wear, everyone had to wear them, so we did.

I loved the aprons and my smock.  They had pockets and I could keep my keys, pen, cigs, money, etc. in my front pocket of my apron or smock instead of stuffing the pockets in my pants.  (Kept a lot of chocolate candy in there too!)

I'm happy for you though, no more Kroger!  It just seems that if you were going to give two weeks notice, you could have just worn the apron a few days and then you wouldn't have that firing on your employment record.

LOL, I forgot to comment about the last part.  If you were to tell me don't shop at Kroger anymore because they tried to make me wear an apron, or don't work at Kroger, they will make you wear an apron, I think I would just find a new friend LOL!  There is seriously something wrong upstairs and I'm not talking about the office at Kroger!

LOL wow I didn't expect this much hate about me being happy I was suspended for an apron. The whole apron thing was why I was suspended but all of the BS I have dealt with this company is really what made me push this.

Just how heavy was this apron?  Was it like one of those lead aprons you wear when you get x-rays at the dentist office?

Yea sorta like that apron. I mostly just refused to wear it because I get extremely hot and don't want to tackle another layer of clothing on me.

Naw the worst offense I had at Kroger was when I was a beginner cashier and my management kept telling me my tills were coming up short. Long story short corporate came because or Accounting numbers were off and thy found out it was our Front End Manager who was stealing from every till on different nights.

Read what I wrote, then read your reply.  I don't think my reply was hateful.  "I'm happy for you" isn't hateful.  You just wanted to argue and fight with management so you did.  That's hateful.
