What's going on with schedules...?

So, I noticed they added Saturday the new week's schedule... I've read others mentioning about it, but does anyone know why?

And aside from that, what's with this new .50 hours thing?

Usually, I work 6 hours with a 15 minute break somewhere in the middle... I'm looking at my schedule now, and what (usually) would have been an even number of hours (26) is now 24.50?

I have two 4 hour days, and three 6 hour days... Every 6 hour days is now 5.50?

Anyone know why? Did something change and I not know about it?

I thought that too because that's usually what it would look like if you had one... like on my 8 hour days...

But I thought you didn't get a lunch break unless you were scheduled for 6 and a half hours + ...

I'm only scheduled for 6, so, that would technically mean one 15 minute break, right? Atleast that's how it's always been...

I would double check with your schedule writer.  Might be a math error.

Per what you said, 3.75+3.75+5.75+5.75+5.75=24.75  Doesn't make since to only take a lunch for one of those 6 hour shifts get 24.5.  Also, the first Saturday on the schedule is not supposed to count towards hours for the week.

I noticed a few shifts here that are from 12:00 to 4:15.

Needs of the company.

lol, who knows. I've had .5 and  .25 in my hours before. That was WITH my breaks. My department manager told me it comes down to what the almighty computer spits out, and he only changes it if it's really messed up.

And therein lies one of Kroger's many, many problems.
Relying far too much on a computer to get the work done.
Hello eSked, hello dips, hello Que-Vision, hello ELMS, good-bye productive workers, good-bye employees who enjoy their jobs.

The wise, honest co-managers admit e-schedule does not work, so they go along with our ignoring it.

Stay longer . . . unless you're compelled not to.

It's handy when writing the schedule so you can see who closed and don't have them back at 5 or 6am.

There's no good reason for it to be on the printed copy the except Kroger wants to confuse the crap out of their employees.  It's set up to run that way, they don't give us control.

Shifts of .15 or .5 is eschedule trying to match elms for the best fifteen minute rating.  That's their big push now, labor escheduled down to the 15 minute need.
