Hello, I have been with Kroger almost 6 months. While talking to a coworker who had vacation time, I was asked if I had any. I laughed and said no because I have only been with the company 6 months. She then told me that when she got hired a couple years back in October, they gave her one week vacation time that January (4months after she got hired). She said I may have some coming up soon, but to check online on the Greatpeoplr.me. my question Is, what do I look under? And why would I get vacation time glut being with Kroger for under a year?
This is an oddity, but I've been asked to take a week off before because my supers know I have another job at the moment and can to afford to sometimes to not having a large paycheck. They asked because they needed to cut hours due to a large round of hiring up front. So I was there for two 6 hour shifts at the beginning of the week where I trained like 4 people how to be a decent CC and then had the rest of the week off. I usually pull 20 - 26 hour weeks.
On a different note, when you get your time off, make sure you check to see how many hours they "give" you during your vacation. The new co-manager tried to short me down to like 18 hours and like I said I usually worked between 20-26 hours a week. Oh that was fun, still don't like that woman.

Yup, and the average of working for the most part 20-26 hours is somewhere around 23. At that point in time the least amount of hours I worked was my hiring week, and I'd had a couple weeks of 30+ hours because of various high school events so I took some shifts from the high school students. (Yes I'm a CC) So yeah there was no way my average was 18 hours even with a 15 hour start week.
I went through and pulled my pay stubs and offered to do the math with her. She didn't like me because I told on another CC who wasn't doing sh!t on lot and I was tired of picking up his slack because I typically was scheduled lot right after him. She's related to said slacker and played with the hours thinking I wouldn't notice because I'm just a dumb CC. I was really compelled to tell her that just because I was a blonde female, that didn't mean I was a dumb blonde female.
Sorry OP for taking over your thread. Talk to your department head or someone like that about vacation week. It could also depend on if the other person is full time or part time. It seems around my store that the full time staff take vacations every 6 months or so.

Call that ethics hotline and report that woman for giving special treatment to a relative. That's exactly why they don't hire family members in my area.
