Unprofessional first day
Permalink

I started my first day of training for the night shift. The first thing that I did was stood with everyone after clocking in like being directed to after orientation.
Least of my surprise the co manager that day was having a bad day.
It was basically my first day on the job where I got bitched at for being there!
It was because he obviously didn't want me on the schedule due to my availability not meeting the times that they needed for my position. Even though I was hired with them knowing that.
He was bitching about it in front of everyone. Blaming our stores hiring department for hiring people who don't fit in with his needs of schedule.
It was so unprofessional and I'm pretty disgusted with the way he was speaking about me in front of everyone. He even went so far as to say who are you, I don't even know you and training me would be a waste of time since he's not going to be putting me on the schedule.
The only thing I did wrong was giving Kroger the benefit of the doubt. Other than being at work on time for training that I was told to be there for.
This is probably the worst treatment I've ever had at a job and that's saying a lot.

I'd report his ass PRONTO. Store, district AND regional managers, just so you don't miss any details.

Agree . . . absolutely.  Do not hesitate.

That was profoundly ****ty, even by abysmal Krogrr standards, which is saying something.

There's also this avenue of reporting back to the company: https://secure.ethicspoint.com/domain/media/en/gui/16000/index.html or 1-800-689-4609.

Let us know if you need help with other contacts.

Ain't d!cksh!t gonna happen to this manager; complain all you want. NEVER EVER NEVER seen of or heard of ANYTHING happen to a Kroger manager for mistreating an employee. You'll have better luck finding a Unicorn.

I don't know what state you are in but I would report it to the workforce commission in your state as well.  Let them file a report against Kroger as well.  If I can think of any other agencies I will let you know.

Weird!  I just had deja vu while typing this.  Haven't done that in awhile.
