I just started working at kroger last Wednesday as a overnight stocker as a 2nd job and my store manager is stressing me out so bad. First night was good but the following nights were hell all the other new guys have quit. The store manager messed up the schedules so I ended up working on my day off. I got no training at all. and for the last few days he wanted me to 4 isles and have both sides done in under 45minutes which included opening the boxes, shelving and conditioning. Now im use to hard work since I worked at both UPS and Fedex. and for my current main job I'm a care taker for the elderly but this is crazy. If he tells me to move faster one more time I'm going to snap.

lol. What state do you work in? I am a night manager. I could try to give you some insight if you can tell me which aisles(which products) he is expecting you to run and condition in an 8 hour shift. Also, approximately how many cases per aisle? Do you spot or run off of a pallet.
I timed my crew the other night.
employee 1. Worked at 100%
2. Worked at 87%
3. Worked at 72%
4. Worked at 58%
I would like to trade # 3 and 4 for some different employees.

I think a stressful night job at Kroger is not in the best interest of your elderly clients/patients. They can't take care of themselves and rely on you for help. You don't need to be stressed out, worn out and not able to give your best which is what they need and deserve.
Kroger isn't going to get any better. The more you work, the more they will require of you. It never ends.

"Under union rules i'm not required to move any faster than I currently am and will not and never will be subject to your expectations of my abilities. You're not helping. If you want to help then give me tips and tricks on how to better myself that are relevant to the way I tend to do things. Telling me to "work faster" is not and will never help me do so. If anything it's going to make me slow down."

Which union rule says that? Exactly what does it say?

I don't see it either. The OP just started a week ago so they can be let go before probation is up.
I think the idea comes from the cashiers and their ring tender score. I have always heard that cashiers can't be fired for work performance or not selling enough four leaf clovers. But, they can be fired for using their cell phone on the clock, stealing merchandise or company time, attendance or talking back to a manager.
I understand it is hard to work for minimum wage and not easy to stay motivated. But, a person chooses to work for Kroger. They can either be part of the team and do their share of work(trying their best) or find another job is my opinion. What we do is not rocket science. Either you can grasp it with a little training or you can't. I have had new coworkers that knew the correct way to do things but when I walked around the corner, they went back to working half assed. Or, they would argue with anything I requested and just ignore me. That guy sucked and did not last long.
During my interview for night manager, the store manager made it clear that people on my crew can be written up for work performance. If I can gauge what they are doing, he will make sure they will be terminated after going thru the proper write ups and discipline steps.
I have 3 full timers and 5 part timers. I don't want to have anyone terminated. I want everyone to not call in, do their best and follow directions. Two of my full timers are less than a year from retiring. They don't give a crap about work performance or being terminated. They are always complaining they do all the work. Ha, they are the biggest whiners. They do an average job most of the time and sometimes less.
My 3rd full timer got the job by default. No one else wanted it. He does a good enough job most of the time. Some days it seems like he is slacking off and other days he surprises me and gets more done than I expected. He is always willing to stay over his shift to help me get the work done without any complaints. I got him some OT at another store on his day off and they said he did a great job. I was warned before I started that he was useless. I am glad someone else sees potential in him too.
I have worked with my first two part timers. They do a good job most of the time.
My 3rd part timer is newer and does a great job.
The main problem I have is all 3 call in to often, will rarely stay over to get work done even if they are scheduled a 4 hour shift. They know if we are short handed, certain aisles need to be run well and others can be short cutted.
My last 2 part timers do an ok job. They follow directions, don't call in and are trying to get the work done. But, they are both retired or don't need the income from Kroger so they have no incentive to work aggressively. They normally can't stay over even if they are scheduled a short shift.

Perhaps I worded that badly. Here let me try to explain what I mean.
"As long as I am in the store, doing my job, and not slacking off (I.E. on my phone, speaking to others while ignoring my work, or hiding) then how quickly things get placed on the shelf is no grounds for action or concern, to you or anyone else. Things will get done and the sheets that have an expected time for things to get done (DDP) is a suggested rate for nothing more than hours to be scheduled by. In any case, management will just override that and steal hours or, if not that, just plain cut them. Fire me if you want, but hear me now 'You're being irresponsible for not trying to help me to get better'. Saying nothing more than "WORK FASTER' is not a valid way to get someone to do so. This isn't slave labor, and no matter how much your corporate overlords want it to be. I'm not here to kill myself I'm here to put product on shelves."

If you don't know how to make a goddamned sign what makes you think you should be making calls on switching out end caps? I hope you aren't a grocery manager....

Ask your union rep if you are required to throw at a certain speed. The answer is no. As long as your hands are moving and you are not screwing off NOTHING can be done to you. No write up no nothing. Period. Kroger agreed to everything in the contract so "hate the game, not the players".
My head Duty Wrote me because up I was going 'to slow' but i don't take break or lunch.... I am still learn the job but he really getting on back about stuff.

Hmmm......I think you should apply at N.A.S.A. Maybe teach at M.I.T.

His comment was legible. Unless you just don't understand the meaning of the word legible, which it appears you don't. Just accept you're wrong and move on.
