What is that tone I hear when the cashier swipes my Kroger's Plus Shoppers Card? I have had my card swiped a thousand times but recently I hear a tone when it is swiped and I have asked the cashiers what it is but have not received an answer.
It means that your account is under suspicion of fraud/dishonest conduct (taking advantage of return or coupon policies)/too many "Make It Right" actions.
What does that mean for you?
It lets the cashier know to follow all policies to the letter, IE, do NOT let the customer be pushy and ask for extra discounts by complaining or saying the price was different.

I suggest you soon find elsewhere to shop.
I was told explicitly that make it right would not be card tracked as it would cost more than it was worth to monitor. Is this not true?
If it's the high pitched tone I'm thinking of it's simply a prompt for the cashier to tell you that you've been offered a 123 Kroger Rewards Visa. The application information is on the bottom of you're receipt. If you no longer want to keep receiving those prompts you can go to customer service, they should have a barcode they can scan to remove you from the prompting system.
