Think im going to lose my job

I work in the krogers deli i normally have been putting in 24/23 hours a week. Then they dropped me down to 16.5 hours. Then this week i only work 2 days and they are only 4 hour shifts. Are the planning on letting me go? I'm really worried i mean i never missed a day or been late to work most of the time i show up early. I ben on 30 day probabtion since one of my co workers said i wasn't doing the dishes. I'm really worried...

you should be getting a minimum of 12 hours a week. if you wanted to go complain to the union you could.

but it seems like a lot of stores are cutting back for the holiday this year. my whole department got less than 160 hours this week. -_-

Yes. You should be. I've never known a great worker to be let go.

How many are in your department? I remember that when I was there, our peak number was around 15, and the last 3-4 people either had no hours or the bare minimum of 12.

If you're at the very bottom of the list (and your availability seems to be open enough), then you're probably gonna get the crap end for a while. It's partly why they can't keep anyone.

They just started receiving deli and produce trays from an outside source here.  The ELMs hours might have been cut due to that.  If the OPs store went to the same deliveries, then that would make sense why hours are less for the department.

As for not doing dishes.  If you didn't do them, did you do other things in order to get probation the first time.  Or, is the Deli strict about cleanliness?Probation shouldn't mean you are going to get fired.  It gives you a chance to correct what you were doing wrong.  But, I could be wrong, so...

Good luck.

It's stupid to get on probation for not doing dishes...there are a lot worse things.

certain managers treat certain employees as such when they cant make them intimadated, the play games with hours.....if hours being cut is legit such as sales are slow, and they dont respectfully expailn, then there you have it
