How much out of pocket would someone have to pay if they had to be hospitalized for depression .

Generally, there's no particular difference between behavioral health hospitalizations and any other kind of hospital admissions, re your insurance coverage. I would call the 1-800 # on your card. (I hope things get better soon)

It depends on how long you were admitted for. Normally, it's 20% of the total amount up to your deductible.

Have you met your deductible?  Do you have precertification?  Is the doctor and hospital in your PPO?  Is depression covered under your plan, if so what are the limits?

20% UP TO your deductible?  So if your deductible is $500, you pay 20% of the $500, then the rest is free?  Sign me up for that deal!

What's sad is that people come on here and ask questions that we can't answer.  How do we know which plan she has?  They give you information about your insurance when you sign up, why not read it and find the answer there?  Too much trouble I guess.  So they ask on a forum expecting us to know.
