Sometimes I wonder if weird customers are just always around or if they come in waves. Had a customer with her younger adult daughter who is a mom come through my line as the cashier is ringing em up in two orders. First order processes fine, and is bagged n in the cart. Second order begins, i bag n finish em, older mom goes to process the card and the register flags the card as "do not honor."
Cashier asks her to swipe the card again, card is still declined at the pad and "do not honor" on the register, so cashier decides to reset the pinpad to see if it's an error. Customer slides through again, "do not honor." At this point me n the cashier are getting suspicious, so I pull both their carts behind the lane and tell them it's just to make room for them and I remain at my post, smiling and watching them for signs of theft.
Customer pulls another card out, that one goes through but the register doesn't like the full amount of the card and so only a fraction of the bill is paid for with 39 dollars left on the bill total. Goes to pull another card out, swipes through, is declined as "do not honor" yet again. Swipes another one through, is declined. Swipes another card through (fifth times the charm lady) and is finally accepted and the register is happy and completes the transaction.
Then she yells at us and says "well if you guys had your equipment working like it's supposed to be, we'd be outta here already. Shes a single mother (referring to her daughter) and she woks hard for her stuff." Walked out as me n the cashier just both shook our heads at what happened.
Can I please not have idiots for once. And please do not yell at us because we are trying to do our jobs.
Tell the customer next time to not waste your time again with her &#^$ cards. You have customers waiting in line because of this *$&% #*$& little $*%&@. If that customer ever does that again, spit in her face and pepper spray her ass. Her behavior is destructive to the Kroger shopping experience for other customers.
Let's pray for this single mother and pray karma hits her like a ton of bricks.
