So I am the black sheep in my store and yesterday I was having fun with a customer. I was trying to display the highest level of customer service to the point of gayness level. A customer walks in and she had a coffee mug in her carriage cup holder. I asked, "May I hold your coffee while you shop?" and also "You want me to push your carriage for you?" I followed her around and asked if she needed help getting something off the middle of the shelf. After my fun was over, I let the customer finish her shopping on her own. A couple hours later the manager called me up to his office. I thought I had done something wrong. Apparently the customer was very happy and that I gave her the best customer service she has ever had. My manager praised me for the first time and that I did a good job and that I represented Kroger in a fine manner.
I just want you, as Kroger employees, to know that doing the wrong thing can sometimes mean it's the right thing.
Just something to make you wonder the next time you help a customer.
If you did that crap to 95% of the customers, they would never come back they would be so bothered. You got lucky. Glad you got a raise and a promotion from that to the salary level the 30 year old workers that don't give a crap.
