Transfer.  There's rarely any positions in fuel that ever need to be filled since it's so limiting. Convince a cashier that guaranteed hours regardless of your seniority is a good thing , because well..it is. 

Or just start calling out. It's hell to replace a fuel clerk and your front end manager / fuel lead will not tolerate it much unless something is really screwed up with your store.
