How many produce pallets am I allowed to stack when I'm unloading veggies? I don't want it to be too tall but at the same time I don't want to keep making trips either? Anyone know what policy says about that?
12 is the standard that the warehouse wants the stacks returned as. If you watch when picking up with a pallet jack, a 13th will go over the back guard and hit the operator if it snags on anything.
It is not normal to stack pallets where customers walk thru. 12 takes teamwork to stack that high. (not worth messing up your body stacking pallets) 4-6 high is safe for a single person to stack. I suggest stacking them 6 high, take them to the back dock and start a new stack. Make another stack 6 high and use the straddle stacker to stack them on the other stack.
I usual put them 13-15 tall. If it fits in the trailer, its good enough for me. Its really not that hard to get them up that high by yourself if you slide it up, readjust, and then push it up to the top of the stack.
