For the last 3 weeks krogers been telling me i dont have a job and i find out im on the schedule all three weeks and get told not to come in the position was filled. Which turned out not to be true. I talked to the head of the deli department because that is were i was assigned to work as a cleaner and was told to come in yesterday so i did. I worked 7 hours and was directed to ask the manger to fix my hours before i left. I had a issue with my clocking in and asked the manager that handled all the clocking schedules for my clock in number and was told no i was terminated and did know how i was working today then proceeded to tell me i had to go up stairs. I asked if i could let my ride know not to leave and she said yes. As soon as i step out she sent somebody telling me to come right back and i had just walked out with permission. I come back in and she said nevermind your terminated call the deli in the morning turned around and proceeded like nothing happen . So basically im having a problem with working for free and no other mangers know whats going on or why i was told i was terminated and not to come in at all anymore
The only person that can fire you is a store manager or comanager. The department manager can send you home and tell you to come back and speak with a store manager.
Skip the bottom feeders and speak directly to a store manager. Ask if you still have a job or if you have been terminated. They will have the final answer once they speak to everyone else you have spoken to. You might be mixed up with someone else or you didn't show up for 3 weeks and maybe they figured you quit. That is a crappy way to fire someone. Either you have a job or not.
While they sort this out, you can still look for another job.
