Serious question, just noticed this at my local stores. Seems to come on the top of the hour. Are you supposed to hit the floor, straighten stuff up? Seems like a waste of time to me.
Some corporate moron that has no real retail experience came up with it. As if we weren't already making things fresh and yes we have the time to stop what we are doing for it and 5 huddles a day. ****ing idiots running this place.
It sounds like bells to me every hour you are supposed to walk around the store greeting people the way I was told. What is wrong with this company? I have 29 years and we never did this in the old Kroger and we did just fine. My old Kroger was better than this crazy ways of the new Kroger. They are hiring people but they will not give them any hours to live on. And then they wonder why they are always hiring when people quit.
Your supposed to go out and check for freshness, replenish, condition our department, etc when that stupid chime sound happens. like we have time for that with the skeleton crew we're all on.
Your toast score is directly related to the customer comments your store managers or ADM receives from corporate every day. They have to go through every morning and reply to each and every less than satisfied comment they receive. If a store meets or exceeds their toast numbers that are partially based on the comments, everyone gets a bonus check every quarter. It's too bad the workers have to be reminded to practice the three A's and keep their departments clean, but if that's what it takes...

Amen
Over 30 years with Kroger. Management shakes their heads yes to everything some young corporate "college degree" idiot (with no grocery experience) tells them.
Then management tells us to jump through hoops to make something work that never will. This place is going the wrong direction.
Thanks for the replies. Everyday I thank the good Lord that I'm not managing for them anymore. Ran into a guy I used to work with, and he jokingly said they're hiring managers for the new Marketplace, and I told him there wasn't enough cash on the planet to get me back. It's been 5 years now, and I finally have started to feel like a human being again. So much bull**** they're going through.
Can't wait to see the Meijer open up here in town. If they can get things right there like they do in their other locations, they'll murder Kroger.
