Potential New Hire
Permalink

So, today, I went for my first interview at Kroger. I thought I did okay, though I was super nervous and it probably showed. I did try my best. The only problem was that at the end of the interview the lady told me that they were still interviewing people. She also said that they're are several positions open, and I do look like a good candidate. But she can't hire me on the spot because I don't have experience in retail (it would be my first job). However, she will let me know at the end of the week after reviewing everyone's interviews. I wasn't drug tested or anything, though. So, even though I thought it went okay, I don't think I got the job and she was just trying to be nice.

What does it look like to you guys?

What state are you in?  What job did you apply for?  Are you available everyday?

My Kroger is looking for warm bodies hoping one has the ability to do easy and mundane tasks without fail.

I'm in Ohio. I applied for the hourly associate position. I'm not available to work everyday, though.

If the position is for Courtesy Clerk, then I don't know why there would be a problem.  If it is for a different clerk position, they usually only hire people over 18 for those jobs.  Most teens start as a CC, prove themselves and then get promoted to higher paid clerks.  My last store manager started as a Courtesy Clerk.

Call back in a week if you don't get a call.

If they don't give you the job, it is their loss, not yours.  Keeping putting in applications for other jobs.

Thank you. The lady who interviewed me said that she'll call by the end of the week so we'll see by then.
