At my store, they come from outside as the deli is located directly next to the door, and are lured in by the fact that we are bombarded with customers to the point where meat, cheese, chicken, etc. is often left sitting out in the open for >1 hour at a time. I have seen green flies there that traditionally only feast on fecal matter too many times.
