What is the process of becoming an assistant department head? Like how far in advance will you know that you'll be entered into the program? Does your coordinator come talk to you before hand? I wanna know the whole process and how many people in one district are allowed to be entered

I finished mine in early April of this year, I knew I was gonna be in it I think the month before so I guess that was in January. It's pretty easy, there is a bunch of workbook stuff to do but my instructor didn't check it at the end, it covers everything the department head does, ie schedules, orders, building displays, how to delegate, resolve conflict, and a few others. Get ready for a crap ton of ACT's, if you had to do them when you were hired you can take the quiz and skip most of it and it will still count. There are 3 I think classroom parts, one is being an inclusive culture, delegating for shared success and I forget the other one, they're really boring! You have to go to another store to do your training and everything else, ACT's, workbook and classrooms. At the end there is a graduation were all of the coordinators and the district manager come to "celebrate". We had 12 people in mine but I'm not sure if there is a max number that can participate. During the whole thing they will tell you you will get more money but when you finish the training they will try to screw you out of it, I know form experience!

I just got done last week. I'm not sure if there's a maximum amount of people or not but my whole "class" had around 24-30 people i'd say. I knew about a month before hand that i was going. What the poster above me said was true, except for me, i had 10 classroom instruction days to go to. There's a class on ELMS, sexual harrassment/workplace violence, food safety, and several more. You will go to a training store and work too, but half the time there you will be on the computer doing your ACTs. Once you go, don't expect a position right away, because i'm back at my store now. I didn't talk to my coordinator before going either, but i did see her a couple of times at my training store. Note this is for Cincy/Dayton division. My class had people from all districts, there was one other person there from my store and a couple others from my district. A lot of them were from the stores closer to Cincinnati for some reason.
