Which is better, large stores or small stores?

Ok so my store is an average size store, definitely not a marketplace, but not the smallest either, ranging from about 700-800k a week on average.

I've been in a large store for a short time while doing training, that did over a million a week.

Now for my next....project we'll say right now... it sounds like I'll be going to a teeny tiny store that is about as small as the Kroger company can get (if anyone has figured out what store i mean then you might figure out who i am, but oh well)

So my question is, which is better to work in, a large marketplace with over a million in sales, but many more employees, or a tiny store that does 300k a week but has only 3 people in a department?

People that I know that work in Marketplaces seem genuinely happier than the ones that work in lower volume stores. I think it's partly due to Kroger being more generous with the hours at Marketplace stores, so despite the stores being high volume, the workload is more proportionally divided among the workforce. I don't know how accurate it is or not, but I hear that Kroger simply treats the Marketplaces with more care and attention whereas non-Marketplaces seem to struggle more because while the stores are still busy, the work isn't as proportionally divided up among the employees, so stress and frustration levels are higher.

I can attest to that.  The store I work at is just under the size requirement for it to be a Marketplace store.  I've talked to people who transferred to this store from Marketplace stores and they've all said we get far fewer hours for the same amount of sales.  We do 1.5 M a week.

I'll be the odd man out and I'll say I want to go back to my old store that did 350k a week. I'm at a Marketplace that does around $1m now and I hate it. Everyone I work with wants to go back to their old stores too. We constantly are getting hours cut, luckily I'm full time but 80% of the rest of the people I work with are not and they were getting 12 hours a week for a month and a half. I'm the Asst. Market Mngr if that means anything. This could all be down the terrible store mngr that we have or a combination of a lot of things I'm not really sure but I wish I knew what I know now because I would've stayed and turned down the promotion.
