I have been in Kroger for a good while now...

furious I am very upset to see what my store has become. This may get a little literal, but I'm going to blunt about it. There is a store in the delta division, 623, that is absolutely horrible. I have been threatened by a department head, called a liar and look like a homeless person by my store manager, and the union did NOTHING but 'talk' to the department head and store manager. I come to work scared just about every day because of the harassment I am afraid of that might happen next. Management will circle me like animals, I was kicked out of MY department because of what the department head did to me, and management pretty much protected a bully, and I guess because I stood up for myself. He especially treats the cut fruit ladies terribly. This kind of crap needs to stop. My doctor put me on Xanax to deal with all this stress I'm going through, and half of it is work related. I have no one to turn to except this forum, because no one listens. I doubt any higher up even reads these. I hope they do, because if things do not change, I will start advising we all will have to go to the labor board. I don't even get my breaks on time anymore. I went to lunch at two one afternoon, and didn't get my last break until six thirty. That is WELL over stated regulations for my breaks. Some people don't even get their breaks or lunches, and with all the intimidation style of management, people are afraid to speak up. Well, this is me speaking for EVERYONE at 623. We are sick of it. I have sweated, worked, and bled for this company, and take pride in the quality of products and customer services I provide. I feel I don't deserve what I'm being put through, nor my coworkers deserve it. I come from 608, where there used to be teamwork, every department helped each other, and management found ways to help us get along. Now, I hate to say, but management is ignorant, and don't even know how to do their own job. I have recently seen our store manager finally come down from his office and actually do something, because I hear we have a new delta leader that is to shape things back up, and word is the store manager is scared, and he deserves to be after how he has treated all of us. Well, I hope this division leader reads this, and finds me to talk to me, because I hear he doesn't want to hear about what people think, but what they know, and boy do I KNOW a lot. For anyone reading, especially union members: Time stamp, dates, and write down derogatory things done to you on paper. That counts as legal evidence, and make copies of it. I have fought with my file going missing, and my doctor notes were even removed at one point. Make copies of EVERYTHING for yourselves and do not trust a manager at 623. Except for ONE manager there, they are all useless back stabbers, and don't know their own job from a hole in the ground, which their heads seem to be stuck in all day, doing nothing but texting on their phones, pretending to be busy. I..feel better venting this at least. I hope something gets done, and quickly. I've stuck it out with this company too long to be treated like trash.

there is nothing worse in life then hating your job & going in there afraid, miserable, paranoid, and the like. you can not change the situation cept to start looking for a new gig and once you get one - leave that environment for good.

Well, I am in no position where I can just leave. Been there too long, full-time, health insurance, I mean, that stuff isn't easy to find all in one contract. Above all else, corporate needs to know it's happening. I don't run. It is dishonorable to me to tuck my tail and run away. Cowardly even. I have gotten management in line multiple times. What's really bad, is it's almost like they're allowing this to happen, and I really hope that is not the case. I have taken my steps to insure my safety and job security, sadly, through medication. However, with a clear head, I WILL get them in their own technicalities, which are starting to uncover. I just can't lose this job. My only source of income and I won't get this pay anywhere else immediately. Trust me, I wish I COULD leave. They even used clever words like, 'so you're saying you'd like to step down?' Trying to trick me out of my full-time status. Ha. I'm no dummy. I took what I had to. I just need to get a hold of one person's e-mail. That's my main goal at this point. I do not say this out of arogance. I AM a great, and if something isn't 110% correct, something is wrong with it. I am a dark blue shirt, no manager status, and you take me out of the department, it immediately falls apart. That happened, and you'd think they'd be smart enough to figure this out, having been to college for business and whatnot. No. The only real experience you can get from a store is WORKING the store. You cannot assume an idea and expect it to work in every store. That is wasted money. And while I'm at it, speaking of wasted money, the constant new t-shirts we wear as 'promotion'. It's like we're little slave dress up dolls. Million dollars on these t-shirts just to wear them a couple of months. All the work we have done to hold a store together, we should be getting either bonuses or raises, but no. Friggin' t-shirts bro. I ain't no Ken doll...but hey. You actually read my post. Thank you for your time and listening. You are absolutely right. Kroger has changed. My question to you though is, why do you do this for Kroger? Surely it isn't to just tell people to get out. You don't to answer. I'm just curious since you agree with me, why moderate something for them which doesn't even seem to be read by Cincinnati or anybody important? Or am I wrong? Because if I'm wrong, maybe there is hope for my poor coworkers who get treated like underpaid slaves.

I honestly do not recall what brought me to this website - it's been so long ago, 7 or 8 years I would say.   Maybe I was searching for the Kroger's GreatPeople website just to check it out and in doing so saw this forum.  I particularly do not see this forum as being established by Kroger in any way.  It's just a portal for those who do find it to communicate about whatever is on their mind - good or bad - about Kroger.  A few years back, we had some serious issues with a troll who pretty much posted daily a lot of inappropriate crap. The moderator and administrator to this forum have long since moved on so all that 'spam' was just cluttering up the board.  Everyone who took this board seriously was frustrated with it so I contacted the company that runs this board and asked for help.  They assigned me as the moderator.  I have since left Kroger, glad I did so, pleased with the way I exited, and am way better off today.  I did not come to this board for a good 2 years & recently as I as going through my favorites I saw the link and checked in.  I've passed off the moderator duties to someone here who has a high reputation to this forum yet him and I have an understanding that I will occasionally drop by. Anyways - that is what's up with me.  Hope that helps clarify things some

It clarifies. I guess this forum is just a type of venting mechanism for employees then. Heh. Not surprised. So corporate does not recognize this forum. Well, things progressively are getting worse. I also noticed something interesting. Management is cheating on things on the front end now. So, we have this screen called Q Vision. If you're not familiar, I'll explain. It tells us, how many registers are open, how many needs to be open for the volume of customers at said time, and how many to expect open in the next thirty minutes. Now, the screen read today, 9 registers open, only 6 needed open, and 7 needed in thirty minutes. Not having enough registers open causes the front end to 'dip' as they call it now. Now, 6 registers were indeed open because 6 lights were on, but it said 9 were active. It does not include U-Scan activity. This happened as soon as the co-managers took control. You can sign out of a register, and the number on that screen changes. They left unopened registers signed in so they didn't have 'dips'. They're cheating the rules now. That's a new one I just noticed today. I also know that they don't bother training anyone anymore, especially in deli and the front end. They have the time roll clerk do interviews and drug tests for new employees, which I thought only management was supposed to do those things. It's just getting real bad bro. Glad you got the troll under control. I believe in good trolls and bad trolls. Y'all apparently had a bad one, and those are annoying. Either way, understand not all of us can just up and leave in our economic situation, especially after me investing so much of my life there. I'm just trying to figure out what to do about it.
