Cart Complaint
Permalink

So we recently had the most idiotic and dumbest complaint on our OSAT survey i think I've ever heard that I feel like shooting myself in the face. Customer complained about the lobby being full of carts at night, which is how it is supposed to be, and that they don't want to walk around a god damn pole!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!!

Management took the complaint and Store Director actually addressed it, resulting in that now we can only have 130-137 carts total in the lobby vs us being able to fit every single cart  (180-190ish) in the lobby. This translates to only being able to do 11 carts max per row with 14-16 rows total vs 19-20ish per row. So that takes out over half the lobby space that now is going unused and empty. So guess where we are throwing all the excess, along the wall out to the right of the doors. This is also our fire lane entry as well for FD, so if they need to stage or park or something quickly, carts will be in the way.

This is pissing us in Utility off like "what! Just whyyyyy" while some CSRs and CSL (Customer Service Lead) are agreeing with us. We are now taking longer to fill the lobby n keep it full (it took me over a goddamn hour last shift vs 20 minutes just to keep the lobby full and have plenty of extra on stand by. I know management can sometimes be serious, but this! This just is asinine and I'm really damn tempted to start conducting time study's and graphing these in trends and shifts to prove to management how utterly ****ed up this will become if this **** continues.

Not to mention how much theft we can see if this continues for scrappers just hauling boatloads of carts out day by day.

It is hurting us more because now we are going in an out ALOT more and are doing ALOT more then what we need to be doing, as wel as wasting our hours because someones got to be on lot constantly from 7am to 10pm.

I apologize for my rant but this, this just irks me to no fricking end.

Carts in the "fire lane" designated for FD personnel to get in and out quickly should the need arise is MORE IMPORTANT than some damned customer complaint on some damned OSAT survey.

If the FD forces their way through your going to have busted carts, busted product because I can imagine them slamming the carts to the side.

Oh, the customer has to walk around a pole? TOO F*CKING BAD!! if you don't like it, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!

Exactly what is going through most of our heads as I don't even know why SD took this complaint seriously. This just has most of us on FE shaking our heads and going WTF.

Because Heaven forbid the one customer go elsewhere. How can they survive with one single customer gone from the hundreds that walk through the door each hour/day?

Yeah our DM loves to send our store manager feedback like "the layout of you store is bad"...or your prices are too high. Then random ones like you have alot of out of dates when it is some old bitch wanting more markdowns. You are out of (insert scratched sales item here) all the time. Go give those to the actually people that can fix those, the crappy buyer, the moron that puts out of season stuff front page sales. Bunch of idiots running this place.

Are you talking about the foyer where carts are kept or the "lobby" where sales items are placed for customers?  I'm having trouble understanding the setup in which lots of carts would require any extra effort to "walk around" unless they're being stored on the sales floor in the "lobby" (italicized definition above)

Some customers are just so ****ing retarded. And so is the management at Kroger. The end.

Well speaking of survey's. Someone put on ours Why not Highly Satisfied - No one gave me a hug.

I asked the manager about that. He told me to just walk around and hug everyone. Really that still

hurt our score. Some customers just do not understand the survey's are not a game.

We have a foyer / "mini lobby" where our carts are stored but also some "target steals n deals" as we call em to advertise a certain product that's on sale and to have them pick it there on the way in (helps draw them in as a marketing tactic)

bitch bitch bitch

who cares how many damn carts are in the foyer.  its not your job to determine that! just keep pushing the carts wherever they tell you to.  if you want to change things then go back to school and finish your grade school classes then go to high school then college then become a manager. till then just push the fricken carts where told.

Psh i may be upset and venting, but geez, i get wat your saying. But if you would read the rest of what I wrote, you'd have some common sense to see a "why the **** are they doing this, it's a pole!" You'd then understand where we are coming from. Work at an extremely busy, million dollar making store that even b4 Kroger took us over, we were suffering sometimes from shortages of staff, and then come talk to me about why I am bringing it up.

Turns out since we in Utility and FE are complaining, the union caught wind of it, an store manager is now possibly going to be changing the policy around in the next two weeks.

We have to keep a lane clear at ALL TIMES in case emergency personnel needs to come into the store. I've had to PERSONALLY send a display of crackers flying with a kick because emergency personnel needed to get into our store. Safety is MORE important than a customer needing to get around some "pole."  If they can't do that... Then SHOP ELSEWHERE!!
