I applied online for a job in early 2009 and was denied due to my background check. I actually got a letter in the mail from corporate stating this. I was unhappy with this result so I went to the store I applied at and walked up to the customer service desk and told the black hunchback of notre dame guy I wanted to speak to someone about a job. I was told that management was busy and I would have to come back another time. I told the guy that is not going to work for me and that I want to speak to someone. He got on the phone and called someone down from the office and I spoke with her for a few minutes and she invited me upstairs and we talked more. I was hired on the spot. Corporate never realized I was working at the store and I vamped out when I got a better job a year later and I was told by management I was leaving on good terms and I am welcome back. There is a disconnect between corporate and stores. They don't know what's going on.
