To be honest completely, i'm not taking this up the ass or anything, but I was wondering if I should talk to the union or just let it go
I used to work at the Factoria QFC in Washington. Also I'm a stupid courtesy who had to do all the **** for everyone cause my managers don't help what so ever and don't care at all about their employees. I'm known as the best courtesy and i get treated like complete trash.
About 1 1/2 months ago i called in for being injured due to my right leg collapsing after attempting a one rep max on my parallel squat and my very professional like store manager joe (sarcasm) threatened me that I either had to come in because he said it was just a "sore" leg or it would be job abandonment. I'm only 17 and i'm like you serious dude?
next thing, last Monday I sent in my 2 weeks notice and did not show up for my shift on thanksgiving which i have told them that same Monday that I could not show up because i'd be gone and I was terminated due to no call/no show for no reason. I confronted the Store Manager who is also completely garbage and he didn't care and did not want to listen to me and I was terminated on the friday of my next shift after thanksgiving. Before i got hired I told them directly that I will not and will be unable to work on holidays and they told me that was fine upon hiring yet i get terminated for not showing up on a holiday. Also, how bad is a no call/ no show? will it show up on my record? also do i have no chance to put QFC on my resume due to this incident with my unprofessional managers? Also another thing that this stupid ass job is i give them a schedule every quarter for when i register for my new college classes and they ALWAYS schedule me to start my shift when I am still unavailable and they ignore me when I tell them i gave you my schedule and it was approved, why do I keep getting schedule for days/hours when I'm unavailable and the managers just completely ignore me. The managers at this QFC completely hate me or something, but all my associates (Cashiers, deli, bakery, courtesis, etc. ) all like me but them and i have been working at this QFC for over 1 year and still get treated like ****.
you could cal the union and see what they can do, but i don't know about using this on your resume. i probably wouldn't. you can stil find another job, but in retail, they do expect holidays. Now i would try getting a job on campus. Or even try getting unemployment.
