Can you use your personal day if you get sick?

Today I worked sick so I could complete our last day of our fresh and friendly program. I went to HR and requested to use my personal day for tomorrow as I was sick and sick all day, yet I came in.

 

shortly after she put me in, my assistant manager went upstairs and threw a fit and then I get told I can't do that since I've already been scheduled and our department was down 20 hours since they can't hire them.

 

Normally id be ok with that, but this same manager told me months ago that if I have to call in sick I could use the personal days to get the hours.

 

If theres anything worse I hate in the work place is being flat out lied to.

yes, you can. you just have to tell your accountant that you'd like to do so. You'd probably need to do it on a full day though.....

Personal days do not count as hours on a department sheet. I have no idea what they are going on about.
