Termination

I was a clicklist newly hired and worked about 2 months and was told It was not working out. I was a union dues person and I am asking can I go to another position such as stocker or bager and cart person. I have autism which makes it a little harder for me but I have worked 3 years prior for spartan. Should I contact the union person?

Absolutely. If you pay union dues, get your money's worth. Their reasoning behind termination doesn't sound like a good one. Good luck!

If you were still in your probation period, they can get rid of you at any time, but it's worth a shot.

I have vcfs which is similar to autism and not.  The store I work for has very few to no disables.  They keep finding ways to "weed" them out.  They even tried it on me.  You can sue an employer for firing you for your uniqueness.  I've had to threaten my store a few times as well with legal proceedings.

According to dshs laws it is illegal to fire an employer for their disability.  If you can do all the job duties even with a uniqueness you should still legally be able to keep the job.  Say for example, we have an elderly gentlemen who is hard of hearing, lacks the speed to a "younger" individual and he is still employed with us.  He proves to them that he can do the job duties even though it might take him twice as long. I feel offended around employees that mock us disabled crowds.

Inform your managers of your autism in writing.  This is a legal contract they have to acknowledge.  If they won't train you; you may want to consider a state approved dshs job coach.  I got intentionally held back because they wouldn't provide me advancement even with them knowing I could get an approved dshs job coach within a week.

I've noticed Kroger does not like individuals with disabilities.  The three stores I have worked at have few to none.  We have to stand up to our rights.  Our uniqueness is what makes us, us.
