so I've been suspended for falsyfied sweep which I don't recall doing .. My boss told me call back on Friday to see if I still work there . Knowing I have a newborn on the way and its so close to my due date . But I feel like they are picking and choosing who to fire . they didn't give me a suspen paper . Had me write a statement. I was wondering can I call HR? And see if I can fight it ? Or what should I do
Call the union. Grieve it if they tell you that you are no longer employed there on Friday.
Most sweeps are logged thru the time clock unless your store does something else. Either you did the sweep or not. That is a lame reason to fire someone. A warning would have been the best response. But, they take falsifying company records very seriously. If a customer got hurt on that day because of debris on floors, then that may be the reason they went directly to termination. Sounds like they were looking for an excuse to terminate you.
As a general rule at any job with a union: Never sign a write-up. Never make a written statement without a union representative present. They can twist your statement to say whatever they want to hear.
Just like if you are arrested. If it involves jail time, remain silent until you have an attorney present.
yeah i think i pumched it in twice by accident , but i cant find my local unions rep email i called and hes out the office.if ANY ONE know bills email please let me know i have a newborn on the way so im sure this is a good way to fire me
you got suspended for an incorrect punch? EVERYONE at my store would be suspended. make as much noise as possible to as many people as possible, because that is an absolute hogwash reason for a suspension, and they should be ashamed.
I'm just stressed because it was close to me going on leave to give birth and now im going to striggle to pay my bills .. I called my Union rep he told me file for unemployment I did I'm still going to fight this
Managers and Supervisors at my store literally tell us to clock out for the sweep without actually doing it. If someone forgets to clock out they just tell another CC to do one. This is exactly why the union exists.
My store is as serious as a heart attack concerning sweeps. Miss one or falsify one and it's "worse" than conspiring to destroy the White House and the Pentigon; they go bathsh*t insane. I mean I can understand missing a whole day. How many times do you punch in an hour? If it's twice and hour and say only 1 dept got 'missed' (falsified sweep or dbl punch) then there's no reason to freak out over it. W warning should have been sufficient.
Yea but I think they have been after me since I've told them I'm pregnant and going on leave soon , so right when it's time for me to go on leave tgey call me up and tell me I'm suspended & im like seriously ?
Contact the union this sounds like they illegally fired you.You have the right to be innocent until proven guilty.Say for example I tried the s.t.a.r. program for a year and I've never before been so belittled for trying to go 150%.I was actually improving the safety record, decreasing the work injuries and getting them to fix potentially hazardous situations.This met nothing to them.Not sure how I showed favoritism but they got me for that.I treat all equally to the best of my ability.It took a year of zero work to get them to remove me from the program.
Do call the union they can't fire you unless they prove it is you.I would honestly sue them if they do get away with it.They can't just "let you go" without an answer it's a government rule.
