This is the first tome I have called in sick. what happens if i don't get a drs note ? cause I really wasn't planning on going to the dr as I know it is the flu. also are they always so rude if you have to call out ? cause he was such a dick

I concur. Tried to call in the other night at my store to check my schedule for one of the days I got switched with another co-worker. And the person had such a snotty attitude asking if I was calling off. Um no, I'm actually trying to reach my dept. so I could check with someone on my schedule, cause it wasn't ringing through via the phone prompts. But let's catch a case of up in the feelings at the very thought that I was doing something like calling off. Good grief.
Sometime last year, I got violently ill. Nasty sounding cough, sore throat, fever, nausea, chills, etc. Even for someone like me who makes every effort to avoid this, working with the public, touching things they've touched, it can still happen. I guess it happened at an inopportune time for Kroger, as when I came to the store to buy some temporary relief from drug/gm, I tell the department head I should stay home tomorrow. He says they still need me there. But I was like no, I'm not working like this. And since when do business needs automatically override someone taking a sick day if they are obviously very sick? I wasn't playing that game, so I got a doctor's note and made them let me stay home and rest. Slave driving and rude as hell. At least the store manager was more understanding.
Well at my Kroger's I was told that the doctor's notes that I was turning in on time where not going to clear me of missing work. That doctors notes don't matter. I was in the hospital with a stomach bacterial infection that my doctors could figure out how I got it. Well I think I got it from my nasty old Kroger store. Well they called my cell phone when I was in a hospital bed & asked if I could come into work that night.
They have also called me while under doctors care during time my doctor had me off after getting out of the hospital. Wanting me to break my doctors care instructions & come into work.
You only need a doctor's note starting on day three. You can call in two days without a doctors note. If you need 3 or more days you'll require a doctors note starting on day three.
