Yes, small stores don't have one, the store i work at now doesn't have one. They just have a meat cutting room. They have a dept of 3 full time people and one part timer who helps out some.

I thought all stores had them before too. But there are some exceptions.

Hmm, better is hard to say just because i was at my home store for so long but it's not bad once you get used to it. I like that with less employees you can get to know everyone easier.

What makes it bad though is that we get a lot less hours for ELMS and there's a lot less people per department. And of course, the OT is very seldom given out, so if one person calls off, basically there is no one to cover the shift.

I actually wish I could go back to a medium sized store. Not too big or too small. Cause when I was hired on I was trained at our local medium sized store that was there since I was a kid and even before then. And it seemed to have a much easier flow to things. But once we moved into the larger market place. It is just pretty much double time with everything except for OT and actual having enough employees at times. As majority of folks are part-timers and they have other jobs and often in our deli they are calling off left and right. So Bakery has to share hours with them and be covering a lot of stuff in both areas. So can be rather hectic when someone calls off, which is most often.
