Can you elaborate? What store(s) / division/ area / state / district???

Ours is every Thursday, but another store a few miles away is still on Wednesdays.

I am confused on what is going on with Senior Citizens Day.......... I can't get a clear, straight answer on why there should be differences in various stores. you would think, if Kroger wants to be orderly and organized, and "easy to understand' by the public, they should decide on ONE day, and keep it like that for every single store they own. That way, people while traveling will always know what day it is, and not be "unpleasantly surprised" if they find out it is not a senior citizens day at a store they happen to stop in and shop.

Word is that "central division" is at large cutting senior day.  I've heard that reliably, but I can't personally verify.

Oh the snowflake seniors.  They will get all their social security, and medicare.  They go gambling every weekend.  They had good factory jobs and won't have to worry about the 20 trillion in nation dept.  Worried about an extra 5% off I'm sure.

While I'm all for saying "screw them" to the elderly who embody the eat the young mentality that has caused so much of the current quintessentially American problem of living, its a bigger business move than just that.

In some area, Central for instance, Kroger is losing bad to competing retail businesses. Their prices are much worse, where they match prices they have worse quality, and in general the entire division is often struggling to keep even sensibly acceptable customer satisfaction numbers. Senior day is/was a major competitive advantage for Kroger in the region to help keep a particular and reliable customer base with them. Whatever dickhead had the idea to end senior day has essentially told the "senior customers" to go shop at any store other than Kroger. I don't know whats worse, the idiocy of ending senior day or whatever critical or sinister financial motive might have made this the smart play right now.

Lets not forget as well, that the clerks are going to be held accountable for the customer backlash and the loss of OSAT numbers.

They got rid of our senior day  (Nashville) on March 15th. I dreaded it, customers weren't happy at all... and Kroger tells us to explain that they are cutting prices on everything as a whole instead of getting their discount.

But it didn't take long for everyone to get used to it, i don't hear much about it anymore. I like not having a senior day, wednesdays were always a MESS because of senior day, i hated going in that day.

For as long as I've worked for Kroger, we never had senior day in Southwest Division. Instead, seniors used to be able to go to the Customer Service Desk and ask for the senior discount to be applied to their Kroger Plus cards. This would give them 10% off all Kroger brand products every day. I think this was discontinued sometime late last year, but customers that already had the discount applied to their cards were allowed to keep it.

Never heard of this day/promotion as either a customer with senior aged parents. Or now as an employee. Although they do always harp about how much cheaper their milk and eggs are. But I still say Aldi's has em beat most days.

It was always a big mess we had fist fights in the parking lot, constant fender benders, one friend I work with had her car hit 3 times in 6 months on senior day. Had a lot of health issues as there were those who would break down or have medical problems and they were pure hell on the electric carts. Wednesdays were always a night mare for us here in the Nashville division.
