Who doesn't get this? Customers come first!

When you're at work customers come first! Who doesn't get this? I'm standing there taking care of 5 customers, while one team member is frying chicken, another is on break and the fourth is on the floor chatting with coworkers. They look right at me seeing me serving these customers and don't budge. I holler their name and ask for them to help me serve the customers. They walk up when I'm on the last customer and want to help. WHHAATT? Then I go on break. They stop me and say "Don't holler out my name like that anymore." I said "When I need your help, I need your help." Then I walk away and go to break. They tell our Manager that I was being rude. I don't know how that is rude?! It is a lot better than standing there arguing with them in front of others. I'm at work! I'm not going to spend my time arguing with you because you don't want to have to actually work. I don't have time for that. I'm doing your job and mine. If it is rude to actually call you out on your faults, then "OH WELL". We are getting paid to do our jobs. Our number 1 priority is taking care of the customers.

Same thing at our place. We have one guy... An ok guy in a way but lazy AF. He doesn't want to take an early lunch even if it's going to be busy and we need ALL hands in deck because 'I just had breakfast and it's too early.' Well guess what buddy? NOBODY GIVES A CRAP if it's "too early" in your opinion. NOBODY cares if you "just are breakfast." You may not be ready for lunch, but the schedule says otherwise. Therefore you WILL go on time, IRREGARDLESS if you are "ready" or not.

Things n issues like lunches are why we do not have them in my contract / company under Krog. Our company believes in paying for the time we are there ie. breaks, rather then having us waste a half hour of not being paid. Which isn't bad in and of itself, as its a maximum of 8 hours we can do by contract unless otherwise approved by store directors / management. To which we get a premium otherwise. Other times if it's 15 minutes or so over, my Store Director was happy to let me stay over those 15 minutes after an 8 hour to help get lobby back up to speed from nothing, and just add it to my paycheck from the kronos report.

I sometimes hate going on break when we get busy, but if the schedule / supervisor says I go, then I go.

More employees than you know don't get that simple concept. Especially when they walk right by and totally see that you need the help. But it's like nope you aren't already doing 20 other things. Why not 20 more and don't offer to help.

Was the person who was frying the chicken just breading the chicken or did they have chicken in the fryer that was getting ready to come out?  If it's the latter, then I can see why they didn't help you.  You'd have a lot more angry customers if they didn't get their fried chicken because the whole batch was burnt and had to be thrown out.  The one chatting with other employees has no excuse though.

They were breading the raw chicken and dropping it. You can't walk away from that until the timer is set. The other one seen I needed help and just didn't bother. They don't like to be told what to do. They believe they are privileged and have to listen to no one not even their bosses.

I know, what a jerk, can you believe it, someone who cares about doing their job.

That's funny.

I know which one of the two of you I would rather have working with me...and it isn't you!

Wow...I just found the needle in the haystack!

Can you please transfer to my store?!

LOL! I care too much! Sometimes I wish I could transfer. The store manager won't agree on it and I have to be working there a year before I can put in my request!

You sound like a real prick.  No wonder the other employees don't like you.
