Everytime they come to my line, they say absolutely nothing to me. Not a hi when I say hi, not a thank you when I say to them have a nice day. Just nothing. No eye contact either.
I think I've been that customer most days. Not trying to be rude. But I'm a bit of a introvert and small talk at times just does not come naturally to me at all. My dad though can just start all kinds of convos with cashiers.
I also sometimes feel like for most workers, even cashiers, they just want to get through their jobs quickly and keep it moving. As I've noticed some don't even want to even GIVE eye contact or say much of anything to ya either. So why waste words when either side isn't really feeling it?
I used to pace aisles for 45 minutes trying to figure out how to talk to cashiers to pay for my stuff. Freaked me out really bad so when I could finally work up just a tiny bit of nerve to do so. I'd go through and try to get it over with asap.
Could be customers like that going through, others might just be relatively rude.
