I hope I'm not doing this for nothing!

I was told last week that I am being trained for the Lead. I have been doing what I was trained to do so far, but have had no more training. I know there's more to the Lead position than making sure temp logs are done, outdated items, mark downs, organizing the coolers, and the weekly clean up. 3 people came to me today and asked me if I was still going to be the Lead. I told them I'm in training and waiting to find out when I get transferred for the final training. I sure I hope I'm not doing all this for nothing. I want the position! I'm willing to take on all the responsibilities, but only if I'm actually going to be the Lead. If not tell me now!!!!

As with any job, there will be a learning curve. This may not be what you want to hear, but stick with it and it WILL get easier

Kingstoopids, Never feel like you're criticizing me. I'm one that would rather hear the truth (whether harsh or kind), than hear a lot of lies. It is probably one of the things I needed to hear. I'm always in a hurry. I need to just relax and let things happen at their own pace. I won't give up, I will stick to it, I just don't want it to be a waste of time. I'm working to hard for it.

Lead for what?

More than likely they just want you in a supervisory role, to ensure things go smoothly and place blame on you if things go wrong without actually paying you lead pay. Leads have to learn minimum product/supply ordering, period inventory, all paper work, scheduling, navigating the computer to pull up forms and guides, email, all in-store promotions deli handles (holiday crap, outdoor ribs, 4 corners, etc.), vendors, signage.

That is exactly what I'm thinking. I'm not actually going to be Lead, I'm just going to be doing the dirty work and be responsible for what others aren't doing. Their wrong if they think I'll do that and not get a raise along with it. I won't take the blame for any of the others not doing their jobs, at minimum wage. I better get that 12 something an hour or more.
