I feel sorry for the Marsh Employees but why is the union allowing them to come in and take over our lead positions and bumping our hours? A bunch of us keep calling the union but no responses!! Big bunch of crap!!
An employee who worked for Marsh supermarkets that closed up and Kroger hired them making more than our dept head plus gave them their job and took their hours even though they have worked for kroger for years!!!!
Kroger cannot do that but these days Kroger will try anything. As for the union keep calling them though sometimes I feel the union is in Kroger pocket. A7pjs
They sneaked them in as leads so now they have seniority over us even though we have been leads for years now they say since we are not certified leads they get to come in and take over !! They didn't tell us anything!!! Didn't tell us well since you have been here 12 years doing the same job you need to be certifed !!! or even post the jobs in the store or anything they just brought them in said here you train them and be happy about it and guess what this gal is no speed racer by no means!! Slow moving lol We just can't believe it and the one iN the Deli about the same thing!!! We are living it and it's bullcrap!!! Called union several times no response none of us get any response!!!
No they are not in the union!! Just bringing them as leads is how they are doing it because these people should only start at 8.50 and they wouldn't work for that so how else were they going to get them more money? Its at about every store around here so we are not the only ones and they are doing it to almost all departments!!
Marsh stores were in mostly Indiana and Ohio I think. I just found out from wikipedia that the company went bankrupt... i knew the one closest to where i live shut down a few weeks ago, well that explains why. All stores are shut down and apparently Kroger bought some of them. That's why. The leads from those stores probably transferred to the OP's store because once Kroger bought the stores, they became Kroger employees. They probably have seniority now. Not completely fair but i bet thats what it is.

Late to the convo and likely not much to contribute other than what Lane Hardy said. But I don't believe I've heard of Marsh either and I've been born and raised in Ohio all of my life. Unless you mean Marshall Fields stores. But still that wouldn't make the OP's situation any better really as I thought MF was solely a clothing store outlet.
