Does reporting harassment to Ethicspoint really work? Do they take complaints seriously?

I mean are there tangible results, like the issue was investigated and improved, or witnesses were questioned, or some sort of positive result? Who actually conducts the investigation, if it has to do with employees at the store? does it go to store management? trying to decide if should report to it or not, about a manager harrassing someone.

It's a very good question, one we've tried to get at before.

EthicsPoint: Ever Get Any Tangible( Results?

Regionally, the District HR person seems to get the reports.  District and store management can get involved, but there seems to have been some soft pedaling and rug sweeping when it has come to keeping abusive managers in place, regardless of how dumb and dangerous they are.

The company's harassment policy is strong; a solid statement will likely get attention and action.  That statement can be submitted directly to management, indirectly through EthicsPoint, and utilized in a grievance.  I'd suggest all three venues.

Communicating well can only help the case; if you can use it, seek out assistance from trusted associates with good verbal skills.

Good luck.

I reported a harassment incident that was ongoing to my store manager-it was handled properly

They work.  I filed a customer harassment ongoing issue to my employer.  Never had to deal with her again.  Do expect a union negotiator as a rep during the interview.
