Am sick, but don't need a doctor, because I have been to one before and got a prescription, but every once and awhile am too sick to work and need to stay home. Do I have to have a doctors note for just one day? I am with ufcw 1000.
I'm not in the union and thus don't have access to the contract, but I'm almost 100% sure you don't need a note for a one day absence. I've called in before for one day and have never been asked for one. Once, I was out for two days, and I got a note only because I was at the doctor's office anyway. When I brought in the note after being off for two days, management gave me a blank stare when I tried to give it to them and was asked, "what's this?" So you should be fine.

Not sure how true it is for ALL contracts. But you might still have to find someone to cover your hours though. Which I still think is major BS. But yea that is how they play it at times too.
You should never have to find someone to cover your hours... That is management's job.
True. Although, I still remember another poster mentioning that in another thread when they were sick as well. Don't recall if that person was in the southwest division or not. But yea, not sure if other divisions were playing that card or not. Still rather crazy to me as well that they would require that.
