Kroger has been doing this for several years already (with the "BISTRO" located next to some delis in certain stores) and has miserably failed.........lack of allotted hours, lack of properly trained employees, poor organization as far as ordering food and supplies, etc.
Kroger, get out of the restaurant industry and quit "pushing the boundaries'. Contrary to what so many young college-educated upper echelon big-wigs think, pushing the boundaries isn't always the right thing to do.........it often results in a big FAIL.
Kroger should just concentrate on what they are supposed to be............ a grocery store.
And the paper work for each item would ridiculous and everything would have to be scanned at least 5 times before it gets to the table and then any leftovers would have to be weighed and then piled
up til a code oscar....what a stupid company to work for.
Hadn't heard about this. But I agree with the other poster that said, if it's run anything like how the stores are. Then yea, I can foresee some future issues with it as well.
I might be incorrect, but I thought restaurants have a high failure rate? The video also stated "Everything make from scratch" so they have the hours to make everything from scratch, but nothing in the Deli department is made from scratch! Everything comes in pre-made, measured and "Company approved". If you look at the Menu its being established as a high-end, "local".........anyone ever heard of "Main & Vine", if you haven't,don't worry, its being closed now too. How about we "restock kroger" with more ELMS hours. "Customers tell us they want Associates to be available when they shop", when there is barely 2 people in each department in a high volume store? How, Why? Oh....Clicklist can have 15 people picking orders at 10am?

They may say, "Everything made from scratch." but that doesn't mean it was made from scratch there on the premises. That's like when they say, "Baked fresh daily." That may be true, but that doesn't mean that what you're buying was baked that day. Technically, everything is made from scratch. Even pre-made stuff can be broken down into simple ingredients.
Well when I started 23 years ago in a small down in Georgia there was a small tiny Kroger that was a great place to work. Everyone got along no one stabbed anyone's back everyone was just nice to each other. This store was originally called M&M owned by the Melaver family. It was sold to Kroger and at first it was still a great place to work and had a sit down restaurant and the food was good. That lasted a few years and Kroger decided to expand the Pharmacy and Floral and that took the spot.
