Does your store ask for ID on tobacco/cigarette purchases?

We recently started the "It's Our Watch" program-is your store doing it? Before we just did visual ID for tobacco products.

Our store's been doing that since the beginning of time. I thought all stores did that, Kroger or not.

We use the "It's your ID" program i think, but even before we were bought by Krog, corporate policy i think as all stores were required to see ID every time for beer / liquor / tobacco, otherwise unless overridden by a CSR / Manager, no sale, period.

Now the Krog way we apparently are to only require ID if under 40, and if over, ask for birthday only. But the weird thing is now for some of our medicines and even some regular GM / Grocery items, the registers prompt for restricted product and require ID input. So we have to see ID whenever the system flags.

We also have the signs that say buying tobacco for minors is illegal. It is on our cigarette cage
