Clicklist associates, is your Clicklist dept understaffed? I work at a Kroger store and while our Clicklist  has quite a few selectors we still have a hard time catching up on busy days and even not so busy days depending on how many selectors are scheduled that day. Selectors work past their shifts all the time and are sort  given a hard time if they leave on schedule when everything is not yet picked. This seems like a trend in Clicklist departments. Is it like this at your store?

Honestly, my department is overstaffed.  But we have a lot of college kids who can't work certain days and somehow they still manage to get more hours than those of us with free availability. I've noticed having to come in early lately since school started back, though. We had one time frame this week where there was no one scheduled for about two hours. It's getting ridiculous, honestly. And one reason I'm trying to get a full-time job since they keep cutting hours back to bare minimum of 12 while other consistently get 20+. My department also promotes the college kids into marshaling roles, even knowing they're often not available for the hours needed.

Are you at a low volume Clicklist store?

we have large volume and i dont think we could ever be over staffed even if we had he max amount of people working, except for slow weekdays.

Every department is understaffed.  I put the blame on them not scheduling enough people on the front end and then using "Customer First" as an excuse to call people from other departments.  Those people then get yelled at for not having their departments full and they end up quitting.  Our deli department is short over 200 hours for the week.  The bakery is short about 60.  Of course one of those people is on maternity leave, but it's still a missing body.  They called co-managers trainees in just to stock because there's not enough people on the stock crew.  The shelves are empty and the back room is a disaster.  One person sent in a complaint saying they had 23 items on their list and 7 of them were out of stock.  That's pretty bad.

We're definitely not slow. Sundays average about 80 orders in the space of one of those defunct banks. And today we had roughly 50 orders with some time slots with no selectors. Only one lead before the night person came on.  It's just that they keep cutting our hours and then the college kids can't just pitch in on their unavailable days.  So we have plenty of people but not enough hours or availability. I went today (not on schedule) and worked 5 hours straight and only barely caught us up an hour before closing. Blew through 95-100 items in less than hour while helping in-store customers, too.

Eighty orders on a Sunday? I guess just be thankful you're not at my store where we either typically come close to 200 orders on a Sunday or we surpass that by ten or twenty. We do it, but not without two or three hours of overtime for three or four people. For the most part, we generally are okay and manage fine with the help that we do have, but we could still use about maybe five or so more part timers, especially on Sunday and Monday.

We're definitely low-volume, but, we don't have enough people at ALL. There are 8 in the department and about 4-5 people scheduled through the day.

We used to get close to a 100 but a new clicklist opened up less than 3 miles away and there's another one less than 5 miles away.  We're in the top 3 of the district, so we're not doing shabby by any means. Considering where they have us space-wise, we couldn't do more. Sometimes we can't even move in the room with 100 orders.

You shouldn't have 100 orders in your staging area at once, since same day allows customer to change/update until 4 hours before their pickup time.  With everything going on, I believe most stores will be getting Clicklist, which will increase capacity and also spread out transactions to customers normal stores.

I know we don't have 100 orders at once. But we are pulling sometimes three totes deep because of the space issue. This isn't unusual for us on busy days. They gave us a tiny space and the fridge/freezers take up a huge chunk (we don't have walk-ins). Majority of the customers pick up later in the day, so we're climbing on top of each other. There's nothing we can do about it since the store was probably built in mid-1990s. I've been with the department since it opened.
