Had a quick question for those that have been through the Steps to Success/managerial training or something program. Basically, what is the program like? And do you get actual training for leadership positions? And is it strictly managerial training to be a store manager in general? Or can you go through it and get into HR as well? Also do you have to train with other managers at a bunch of different stores as well or no?
I ask, because one of the bakers I work with had initially wanted to get into doing it, but she has recently gotten pregnant and can't. So I believe our HR person(whom had initially brought it up in one of our morning huddles. But I haven't had a moment to really track her down again and find out more about it) is looking for someone else from bakery to take her place. The baker chick asked if I would be interested in doing it, as she doubts many others would be interested and would prefer to just stay on as regular clerks. But honestly I'm not even sure about it myself either. Not that I wouldn't mind possibly moving up a bit and making a smidge more money and although I'm coming up on two years with Kroger in Aug. I'm not 100% sure that I would want to try and tackle something that I'm not fully prepared for(if they drop the ball on properly training me), especially in regards to doing lead and managerial stuff.
