Is Kroger's attendance policy the same for every district/area?  Can the store's Human Resources Department modify the policy at all?

If it's all the same, then does anybody know it?

Not completely sure of the actual wording of it. Just what I've picked up is that for any call offs they have to go through store management and not your direct supervisors or back up managers. And if you are off sick, you have to call in each day and before you come back you have to have a medical excuse. But for all my doctor notes that would have me off for multiple days, I would ask a family member to bring them in to management for me if I am unable to do so personally. So they know from the get go which days I'll be off ahead of time so that someone can cover my shifts.

Attendance policy?  When you accept a job, you're expected to show up, period.

Show up on time, I think 3 times late a period can get you written up. Dont no call no show. Call off 2 hours before your shift. Clock ins are rounded to 15 minute intervals. You cant miss more than three scheduled days in a row without a proper excuse. You need doctors notes if youre sick.

They have 10 days to write you up from the tardiness or whathaveyou. Vocal retraining, write up, 1 day suspension, 3 day suspension, then youre fired.

It would be nice if that was actually enforced. We had a guy last week scheduled three days. He no called/no showed all three days. He came in on Sunday for his shift and not a thing happened. What a terrific example that sets.

I had a guy that showed on time maybe 3 times out of the whole year, no call no showed on an important day, called off sick an hour into his shift at least once a week and he was never once written up. Not one single time.

This is why people that do this continue to do this (no consequences) and why others do it too (they see no consequences, so they figure they can get away with it it too). Meanwhile, the rest of us that DO show up on time get the extra work dumped on us because we're short handed. One of the MANY reasons morale at your typical Kroger store is down in the pits. Not only are you tolerating the bad employees, but this can drive away your good employees too... then you're left with mainly the bad employees at which point you're really, truly screwed.

Kroger has an attendance policy????  At my store, my dept head has showed up late (between 10 minutes to 45 minutes) at least 75 days out of the last 6 months. Is there anything wrong with that?  They haven't gotten written up yet.    (However, this person is also the one who makes the schedule for our dept)
