I always encourage associates to jump at any opportunity, just don't burn a bridge. The only issue, Office/State jobs are completely different from retail, which is a blessing and a curse. If anyone is a part time associate and a new opportunity is available, jump at it and keep your foot in the door (work on weekends or a few days a week). If your a full-time associate, just burn up your vacation and other paid time off to see if the job clicks or if your STR Manager allows, just ask not to be schedule for 2 weeks.

And for God's sake, make some plans, set yourself up right, but then do it. Nothing worse than putting up with something you hate for so long you age yourself out of other optons.

I'm trying to finish some school so I can get a real job, but Kroger's just been giving me middle fingers the whole way. On top of the regular everyday incompetence, it feels like some of it was deliberate sabotage.
Kroger is the 4th worst paying corporation in America. Unless you are retarded, a child, or some combination thereof, you really can't do much worse.
Unlike Kroger, you might be able to achieve full-time at an office job. And a state job is likely to have real (if not great) benefits.

Yes! I'm supposed to graduate next summer. Once I graduate, I'm quitting and pursuing my child development career. I've been with Kroger 4 years and I'm over it.
