ASM Interview
Permalink

Theyve made several listings for ASMs in my division. I think I might try to take the next step. Ive been with Kroger for 5 years and have worked several departments and Lead roles. Another factor Is that Ive heard Kroger has had bad retention rates for managers and have significantly upped the starting pay.

Anyone know what to expect out of the interview? Ive heard its the  District HR Manager and the District Manager who conduct the interviews. And its kind of in an SAR format. Any other tips?

If you can incorporate feeding the human spirit, reducing waste and donation through waste integration, friendly and caring through managing your teams, employee retention, 3 a's and all that bs in your answers you will pass the interview with flying colors. Im surprised half of the asm passed their interview seeing how dumb as a rock they are.

Do your research. Find a salaried manager you can trust and have them coach you. You'll hear all kinds of oppositional advice re. staying with hourly management; union benefits, better per hr. $$, what ever---but salaried is a much better move. You can take your experience with Kroger to a n y other retailer----or even other management jobs in other industries. Can a Kroger hourly grocery lead making go somewhere else making $22./hr? Nope.

Let us know how this goes ~
