applied for a pharmacy tech position in my store - got a rejection email?

hey,

so i applied recently for a pharmacy tech position which opened up on friday night. i personally view myself as a good candidate (getting a degree in the medical field, open availability, quick learning). i also started doing research on passing the certification test and started taking practice tests. i just got a rejection email from a noreply@kroger email address stating that they want to pursue other applicants. my question is 1) why when i was around my managers all day did they say nothing to me, yet sent me a generic kroger recruitment email and 2) why does my store always seem to hire externally? what am i doing wrong possibly that would prevent me from getting the position? and why would they not even interview me for it?

I would go to your store's pharmacy, talk to the manager there in confidence, and learn exactly every step you have to take to make this happen. Keep your cool. Show them that you're motivated and serious, convince them that you will make a great asset to the team. There are answers to your questions, it's all in who you go to and how you ask them. If you get the run=around, if it turns out they just don't want you, at least you'll know. And then it'll be time to look outside Kroger.

It means they want to hire somebody from outside so they don't have to pay them as much.  When they don't work out, they'll just repeat the cycle.

I would not take this personally, no one at the store decided you were not worthy. If you received that notice that soon, the "recruiter" reviewing the application just "decided" you would not be a good fit. So to the RX Manager and Store Manager and tell them your interested in moving to the RX.

Rejection email means just that. You're probably lazy and give customers the wrong pills. Get more training

Question is, why do you want to work in a pharmacy. Our techs don't get paid more than food clerks, they're constantly running trying to catch up and it's a high stress environment. Why?

it's not the job as much as the rude coworkers who expect you to know how to do stuff when there is inadequate training and a significant learning curve. 5 months almost and i still mostly work release to patient. not sure im getting to learn what i want to become certified

Depends on your division for pay. In my division we get paid about $2.00/hour more than everyone else once youre journeyman and nationally certified.
