Does anyone know if we can use personal days in January from the following year? I feel like Ive heard tell of people doing it. I just had my last two cancelled due to someone quitting so Im just curious since Im going to a wedding in January and at this point Id rather save the personal days for that.
It would depend on your Union Contact/Division Policies. In Cin/Day all Union Associates have until the end of the 13 Period (Last week in January normally) to use any Personal/Vacations from the previous year. A Personal day is a paid day off, its also called a Personal Holiday, its part of the 2 Paid Days off and 1 Week of Vacations UFCW75 associates receive after 1 year or service.

I've been told by my CSM that with our new contract (Cincy/Dayton) we no longer get until January. They've been trying to put an end to rolling over vacations into January and it's claimed that this past January was the last time they'll be doing that.
They've tried pushing that in my store too but i don't think it's an actual policy. They said to have all vacations in by like October 15th but i already have one i need to fit in that i was supposed to take in March...
Yes. Personal Day's/ or Vacation Can Be Used Up Until 1st. Of Feb. The End Of Feb. Ends There Fiscal Year. Per Union Contract All Vacations, And Personal Days To Be used Up By The End Of This Year. They Always Seem To Honor It. Just Make Sure That For The Next Year...It Does Not Show You Have Used Up Your Personals. Keep Track!!! My 2 Cents. J
They always want people to get their Vacs out as soon as possible, but sometimes the weeks/days get pushed because of "business needs". Along, with Holiday time is a big hiring time, some people will not earn them until Nov/Dec and not being able to take until Jan.
